John Livernois joined the Department of Economics at the University of Guelph in 1991. He received a BA Honours from the University of Toronto (1976) and an M.A. (1978) and Ph.D. (1984) in Economics from the University of British Columbia. His teaching and research interests are in natural resource and environmental economics with a focus on issues related to taxation, regulation and enforcement. His research has been published in journals including the Journal of Political Economy, The International Economic Review, Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, and the Journal of Public Economics.
